May 8, 2024

Jo Kelly isn't your average acting coach.

Actually she isn't using the word "teacher" not once "I am not giving people guidelines regarding how to conduct themselves" she states. "I aid people to not behave."

Through exercises that simulate the real world, Jo coaches mainly actors and other artists of every kind and non artist "seekers" on how they can find inner freedom and discover their true themselves. In this way, performers can cease acting and instead begin acting and becoming. "I prefer to see myself as an acupuncturist more than a teacher since I aid people to come back to their truth and rebirth," she elaborates.

She believes that the performance of an actor depends on their satisfaction and the ability to dedicate themselves completely for the character they are playing. "When your character is respected completely, the story is being told, and the audience is impacted" she states.

Her unique style of instructing performers, she aids students in tapping into their childlike imagination, enthusiasm and joy. And the result? They deliver authentic, lively and honest performances.

In 2016, Jo changed her coaching style from face-to-face and began an online-based business by using . Since, she's created three consecutive learning experiences, and offered over 8,000 people. Students have had amazing success since working with Jo and also have secured positions at some of the most prestigious studios including Netflix, HBO, Disney, Showtime, ABC Studios and many others.

Here's how she built an online business she's passionate about:

She conducted research for her subject.

Jo had a different way to get into acting.

Born in Belgium Her birthplace was in Belgium. She completed her MBA after which she specialized in the management of human resources along with psychosystemic psychological. After that, she worked as a corporate coach. "The corporate world never felt identical to the ones I had grown accustomed to," the author explains. "I chose to let everything go and move to Paris to start afresh. ."

One of the reasons she chose to begin over was trying her hand at acting, which she found herself in. She was determined, committed and poured all of her cash and time into learning how to be the very best actress she could become.

Although she was dedicated to her job, her mom claims she was an average actor but not a top actor. Similar to other actors, she was plagued by stage fear. "Most of my friends working in the field of acting suffered from the same issues," she says. "We loved acting, however when it was our turn to be actors, we were uneasy. ."

She was interested in the factors that prevented her and other actors from becoming great actors. "My fascination became a consuming obsession," the actress says. "I wanted to know why actors who are so passionate and dedicated, have to change their performance ."

In the following years, she researched how players could be restricted. Her study led to an awareness that when children are playing, they're at liberty. Whereas when adults play similarly, they've been deprived of the freedom they enjoy due to societal demands. "When I realized that I was a victim, I took the remainder of my life helping actors unlearn their habits to enable them to show up and be themselves in the same way that they used to have," explains Jo.

She began coaching

Jo's experience in research inspired her to investigate various techniques and methods that she later tried with other clients by private or group coaching sessions in the beginning of 2000. A few years later Jo named her company to Be Or Not To Act.

Then she realized her students were lacked commitment. "No whatever dedication those I taught were, they didn't have the capacity to be consistent in their attendance every day. Even if we met regularly, at least 3 times per week, they didn't have any obligation between meetings. The ball would be dropped without a problem when they weren't around me," Jo says. Jo.

She thought that online training could help individuals stay constant in their lives. The online courses she offers are in the form of "journeys," and the initial journey that she guides people on will be The Reset: From Resistance to Freedom that she created in 2014. "I invented The Reset so that I could assist people throughout all of the 33 days that it takes," she explains.
"Since it's accessible on the internet, people are able to access it at their own time and create their own plans."

Jo believes that we were naturally born, but societal conditioning asks us to behave according to a particular way or think and act as we do. According to her, the goal of The Reset is for people to perform daily routines that help to remove their conditioned behavior and revert to their natural instincts. Each day in The Reset, Jo offers recorded exercises. She also provides 2 questions and answers, as well as two hours of group work by using pods. There is also a semi-Q&A session where Jo answers frequently-asked questions via an exclusive Facebook group.

The flexibility provided by an online adventure lets Jo's participants to be able to attend the classes any time in time; when they wake up at night, prior to bed or at any other time that they've enough time. "The greatest thing is the fact that it allows the students to fit within their schedules," she explains.

She created an online company that gave her a lifestyle that was flexible

When Jo first started her website Reset adventures it was running every single session held posted on her website. After a few years, she changed to the platform, after having been suggested to the platform by her trainer. "You are all aware of exactly the way to go and I'm not," she chuckles.

In the last few years, since she entered coaching on online, her life has been transformed. In the moment of interview, she called from the hospital, where she was spending time with her daughter. "Eight years ago, my daughter was diagnosed with genetic specification this means she needs medical attention every month," she says.

" permits me to be a mother and manage my day-to-day life as I keep my online business running, all the while being in the hospital as my daughter is receiving her regular transfusions" she adds. "Working online lets me take care of my child as I'd like to, and remain at home to her. This lets me go to hospital for medical needs and yet have a career that I love, with no stress. ."

Her subsequent travels were hers to design.

When people are done with The Reset, they have the choice of joining the course for three months called The Aimful Actor. The Purposeful Actor course is a 3-hour class for 12 weeks. "The students in this class are more independent in respect to their accountability and acting the self-respect they deserve. There are routines that they have to do everyday, but they can't rely on me to do it; they have to make their own plans and this is why they are in this class." Jo shares.

Jo will also be hosting Q&As during the Purposeful Actor Journey and each week during the three-week period. When people are done with the Purposeful Journey you can choose to enroll in a membership that is known as BAMF Actors In Action, which is short for Bad-Ass Mom F***ing Actors In Action. "I began this program as the people who completed both of the journeys want to keep working on this pathway," she says.

The program has been operating for the past four years. The program includes a monthly, content-based meeting, group work via weekly pods, weekly Q&As with Jo as well as an all-day summit that runs every three months. "The Membership helps members decide the actions they'll take in order to go out into the world and do the things they're supposed to do, get connected to professionals in the industry, write their desired content, create, and improve their craft," she explains.

She worked with musicians of different kinds.

According to Jo, most of her clients during her work include actors. But there are others who are creative, such as performers, storytellers as well as singers, along with normal individuals who "want to get rid of their conditioning," such as mothers as well as professionals including professional athletes and TV hosts and therapists. "Freedom is important to all who want to express themselves fully," she says.

As the trips are provided in English the journeys attract travelers all over the world. "We are a diverse group of people from all continent, however the majority of people come of America, Europe, and Australia," she shares.

Most of her viewers are between the ages of 20 and 50. She also has some people in their third stage of their lives. And it's not uncommon to see her invite people who are 70 or older to be part of her journeys.

The client let her handle the talking

In terms of advertising her trips, Jo says the word was spread via word of word of.

On the homepage of her site, she's included the video reel of her personal testimonial. This provides proof of social standing as well as a boost to the credibility of the work she does. Visitors to her website can sign up to her newsletter through her website. To gather email addresses, she offers a couple of free workshops as lead-generators: Stop striving to become a top Actor to Give Yourself The Chance To Be Great and the Instinctive Actor. In addition to helping aid in obtaining her reader's information, the workshops also give participants a glimpse of the her coaching the way she coaches.

There is also an Instagram page that boasts over 10,000 people following it. Her work also receives press from external sources by interviewing people on podcasts, blogs as well as magazines.

The client chose a cost that's affordable.

Jo will make her journeys accessible to everyone, particularly since actors often are at a loss when it comes to their earning. "If you visited an acting class once a week, it will cost between $300 and $400. Most of the time it's just sitting there and watch others perform scene or sometimes, you get a chance to perform," she said.

"These travel options online are significantly less expensive," continues Jo. "The benefits of our travels exceed 10 times that which we can offer our customers. ."

The Reset has a price lower than $1000 USD. The Purposeful Actor costs $1250 USD and membership costs $270 USD per month.

She was in the zone of brilliant

Despite being the company's chief executive officer To Be Or Not To Act, Jo is firm in her desire to invest on her natural talent, which includes coaching and creating the content. She isn't tech-savvy as she prefers to be "in in the flow" doing the things she excels in. "The rest of the tasks which are required to operate a business aren't my specialty since this isn't my area of expertise," she says.

Jo attributes her success by hiring a coach earlier in her career. As she was ready to build evergreen paths, she took a chance and enrolled in a $20k class to assist her in achieving this. "It was a big stretch that needed me to borrow just half of the cost. However, I'm happy that I was able to accomplish it," she shares.

She believes that it's possible that anyone can create an online course that is profitable. However, she warns it's not an easy job.

"It is a defiance and commitment, and it is essential to be strongly about what you're working on. As for me, this is all I've done when I changed careers when I was in my early 20s and that's the only thing I'm going to do. The passion for what I do makes me feel that even when I'm struggling and I'm not going to quit. ."

Her inspiration came from her passion to design.

She recommends that online creators are real about the effort that's required into building an online business--and suggests doing so only when the subject they're teaching is one that's close to their hearts.

"The danger now is that if you go on social networks, you'll find that everyone's training you and everyone says that it is to make millions in two seconds, but that's not the truth," says Jo. "It is true that if you are passionate about something, and it's something you are passionate about, you can reach the world's largest audience as well as your own neighborhood. But it takes legwork, as well as falling, before getting back up. This process requires training and investing your time and money until your base is established ."

Like Jo When you begin a business from your heart, it gives you the stamina to endure the difficult moments.

"An online enterprise isn't just an opportunity to make money. It must be created with your own heart and based upon the job you're expected to do. If you do not, you'll lose the ball as it's going to feel hard." she explains.

"If you're on purpose and you're prepared to face the obstacles. If you're looking to make a quick buck it won't be possible to handle them. My advice is to apply your interests to your heart. It is essential to excel in your job because of a high level of competition. It is essential to be confident in what you're performing. ."

Her integrity was maintained with her craft

When asked about trends on online classes that can be observed in 2024 Jo says that there is going to always be an abundance of online courses. She believes that the major distinction between "McDonald's" programs as well as those that are "gourmet" classes will be the ones that have been created using integrity.

"When there's an abundance of something, it will result in two kinds of work online. There will be McDonald's kind of courses. In addition, there are high-quality and reliable courses. There will be goals to accomplish something or another in your life. However, it won't be out of a genuine source, and the those who have been at it for many years." she says.

To create an exquisite dining experience she suggests you return to your inner self.

"There is an enormous opportunity for any person who is at the core of their being and a desire to give back," she continues. "The people who need your services will find you ."

"I'm grateful that this permits us to live as human beings in the things that matter to us. It's incredible."
