Staff Select premieres "The The Journey" composed by Eve Saint Louis
It's in the meantime the ones who made us that we look to with our most sincere hearts -- as well as those who can bring our pain most. This week's Staff Pick Premiere is a knot-in-stomach-inducing drama impressively written, directed, and acted in by Eve Saint-Louis that depicts this unfortunate fact so viscerally.
"The travels" is the director's debut (! ) The film is a story of Chantale an 18-year-old woman who returns home to Paris after having spent a year of the Canadian family. To her dismay, Chantale's father suggests that he collect her at the airport, despite being aware they share a tension-filled relationship. Chantale's doe-eyed charm (played brilliantly by Saint-Louis) is sharply contrasted with her father's rage (portrayed superbly on screen by Claude Laroche), resulting in an intense tension so strong it's as if the actors had stepped away from their screens and gave the viewers an anxiety-inducing experience. It is so successful in creating stress for the viewers that people who've been through emotional trauma by the loss of loved ones must be aware that this film can trigger triggers.
"The Journey" will probably be the most loved story for people who have several complicated family dynamics It is as well a tragic example of sharing blood that is not true for a person does not necessarily mean that they'll always have your best interests in mind.
We have asked Eve Saint-Louis, a multi-talented actress, several questions concerning her film, and we are thrilled to share the answers to your questions on its online debut:

The source for this:
"Family relationships. In particular than that the things we shouldn't discuss about our relationship. It is a complex, rich and universal issue that I was keen to investigate some unsaid and unanswered questions that are in our discussions as well as the pain are incurred. It is interesting to consider the realities and limitations on the fundamental family unit. It is believed that you should forgive your family for all things, and treat the family as if it were sacred. However, what is the next thing to do after a relationship has become toxic and to what point is it necessary to endure it? It was essential to me to convey into visual representations the idea that parentage does provide an intimate relationship, however it doesn't ensure that sometimes family can feel like strangers . "
On challenges faced:
"Since it was my first time making films, everything was challenging because it was all new. But, there was one challenge which I'm sure I'll keep in mind throughout my existence. It was similar to searching for a needle inside a Haystack. The residence on screen was the toughest character to identify, or in order to locate. I wanted a place which resembled the father's house, a place that was filled with objects that were historical and interesting along with an extended ceiling that weighs down on the characters while giving them a feeling of enclosure . "

on the writing, directing and acting as the lead:
"It began with the necessity to write the story, followed by desire to take the story to the "big screen" me. Becoming aware of the demanding task the art of theaterdirecting is and the difficulty it is it was clear to me that the art of film directing would require considerable effort. Therefore, the idea of being a part of it caused me to be wary to keep the idea open for a while. At that point, I drew inspiration from directors who merged these two roles and I urged myself to do exactly similar.
The entirety of my time was dedicated to preparing for both characters actors and directors as well as drawing the most clear distinction between the two. For my part as an actor, set aside time to prepare for the rehearsal as well as visualizing the scenes. It was my priority regardless of the anxiety about pre-production that comes with any film. As an actor, I was much the same and was fortunate enough with a professional Director of Photography I could count on. When I arrived on set as Chantal My artistic collaborator knew exactly the goals I wanted to convey for the film as well as the overall view He was also able to direct me in whatever manner was required. My amazing team and our method have enabled me to be a director and a player simultaneously . "
On finding the perfect place:
"Location Scouting" required me to drive for long distances in Quebec winter. I would knock on the doors of people, and sometimes writing love letters in their mailbox just to convey my affection for their homes. The artistic director of my company and I discovered the ideal gem. First time meeting the ownerswas that they were gracious enough to invite me inside as, when they looked from inside, they they had seen their daughter walking through the front door. It was a great feeling being able to get to know them. ! "
Her tips for new filmmakers
"Persevere and trust your instinct. If you feel a tale deserves telling, and you are convinced that it is, then the chances are that you'll be telling it . "
What's next?
"I am currently making my second short movie as screenwriter and director. It is a project is very thrilling to me. The movie is also made during winter. The story is about the group of friends who get together at a restaurant to take a sleigh ride . The way in which the initial outing transforms into a major life altering experience"
