Passive is Passe: Creating Online courses requires active involvement.
In the majority of service-based companies with a passive or leveraged income-generating products are a gorgeous concept, however there's a myriad of emotional and mindset concerns that may arise while stepping into this realm. First, there's the misconception that passive income is the best type of income. Sure, you get to make money in your sleep and you get to go for a stroll on the beach. You're right, but there's no need to offer it for sale to me.
However, what if you truly consider the clients who are purchasing your program? If, for instance, you didn't WANT to go out to the ocean, however, you'd rather to stay around, clasp some hands, answer some questions, and genuinely SUPPORT your clients through the program?
Do you think that makes you the wrong businessperson?
Is that a sign you're onlyleveraging however you're not creating true passive income, so you've FAILED?
Absolutely NOT AT ALL.
I'm here to tell you that Leveraged is now the latest black.
Additionally, passive income is soooo this year.
Successful online course creators keep in touch with their students
Heart-centered, beautiful entrepreneurs are creating BRILLIANT leveraged programmes, while staying CONNECTED to their tribe And people love the way they do it.
In an age where potential clients have ALREADY signed up for numerous online courses and have never completed their studies, a self-study programme will be merely just white noise.
In this day and age, people are SICK of being pushed through automated funnels, lead generators and in essence, forced to go through hoops to determine how much amount of money you'd like to make and then how much you can pay the amount, online buyers are pushing away. They are refusing. Delaying the decision until they can work on a one-on-one basis or participate in a high-touch group program that requires lots of face-to-face interaction.
Connected course creators for connected course creators, this can be GREAT news.
Myself, I don't believe it's part of my genetics to create an income that is truly passive. My very first truly product that was passive in income was a calendar for yearly entrepreneurs that cost $19.98. When I first launched it I sold 170 copies. It was stunning. I then proceeded to start communicating with customers who purchased it to ensure that they had filled it out and to see if they found it helpful and to offer tips on how to maintain it all through the year.
It was by no means an income-generating product that was passive. It was a fact that I spent over 10 hours CHASING the people who bought it to discover what they thought about it and then aid them with their use!
One year later, I launched my Heart and Soul planner again at the end of 2015. This time, it included two live group workshops that I conducted, one of which was walking everyone through the planner page by page, answering questions and offering suggestions, and a second workshop where I helped individuals create their own strategy for implementation to ensure the planner didn't become just another dust collector.
Through transforming my non-profit product into a leveraged one I found several advantages for seller and buyer alike:
- I was more connected to the people who purchased and I could assure that the customers were receiving great value - felt good for me and great for them.
- I came up with a TRIBE. we were all on the live chat together. members were communicating with each other, cheering each other up and sharing ideas and suggestions. It was not a battle to conquer - instead, it was about uniting and make connections.
- People could easily know me, and consequently, my KLT (know, like, trust) score skyrocketed.
- Conversion to better products was phenomenal - out of the 256 women who bought at this point, three are now VIP clients fourteen of them have enrolled in one of my signature programs, and at least twenty have signed up to my business school in just six months. The process of conversion will keep happening throughout the year I am certain.
So the next time you're contemplating and planning your next program, course or product, think about giving idea of designing something that's more connected and more active. You might need be more consistent in your work a bit more consistently.
You never know, you might just discover that you enjoy it.
