Minimalist collages - The CreativeMindClass Blog

On Sunday afternoon I accidentally caught Olga posting Instagram stories of my neighborhood from childhood. In Warsaw's concrete jungle is an undiscovered, sacred green area. I used to go there during the summer months to gaze at beautiful old pine trees and catch a breath of the natural world inside my urban lung. In her account, Olga visited this area in her first visit, but she also got mesmerized by one of the oldest backyards in Warsaw. It is my bet she'll create the Boernerowo-inspired painting.

We inquired with Olga about the key to making her minimal collages and paintings of human-shaped landscapes

"My Name is Olga Szczechowska, and I'm living in Warsaw. From the time I was a youngster, I've drawn and painted often. I attended an art high school and was a student of Painting and Cultural Studies at the University of Nicolaus Copernicus in Torun.

I'm an illustrator, painter occasionally a graphic designer. Through my work, I concentrate on the connection between humans and nature, paying close attention to how we influence our backyards. When I look at hedges that have been trimmed as well as decorative plants and meticulously designed home gardens I'm trying to capture the strange beauty of the surroundings around us."

"For some time, I've created minimalist collages. The compositions are in the form of landscapes and still lifeor created as a result of experiments with shapes, textures, and colours.

My style is eclectic since collage and painting are quite different. However, they share one thing that they share: they relax. I have heard this term repeatedly from my viewers and believe that is the best description of my art. If I am tired of drawing, I do collages. The reverse is also true. One style is a temporary escape from the one.

I believe that being aware is essential. I carefully observe everything I see, including nature, architecture, and objects. All this is reflected in my work. Through my work, you are not able to see the human being, but we are able to feel the human beings in hedges or in a mug placed in the kitchen table."
