Hamburg-based tattoo artist and illustrator Ines Hassler, also known by her stage name of Frau Ines lives by her talent for creativity, her bravery and the local artist community.

"Creative exchange, contact and the sense of belonging to the community are crucial for meand have had a profound impact on my career," says Ines. The area that's in Hamburg is a place of creativity that is managed by Ines and her own local artist's group: Hey Du Hey Du. It is an art store as well as Ines's tattoo studio. In addition, Live Art Club, their "cheerful bright, lively" drawing lessons. "I wouldn't be where I am now if were not open to the possibilities which Hamburg and its people could give me in the last few years," Ines says.

An active artist since a young age, Ines studied a variety of art-related fields throughout her university years before choosing what appeared to be the right option for her: design. "But after just a few years of working for agency work," she says, "I discovered the fact that I was more committed to my work during my off hours as opposed to working for major corporations and customers. That's why at one point I made the choice to start my own business and work full time in the field of art."

The use of creative diversity as motivational tool

"The diversification of my daily life keeps me energized and creative" she says. "The toughest aspect for me is be doing exactly the same task over and over again. I enjoy shifting between different tasks, working with various individuals while pursuing the same goals. So, my job always feels like a leisure activity."

"But naturally, it's frequently challenging," she acknowledges, "especially during times of epidemics or when multiple deadlines from different parties come together. The stress can be a real source of stress and often excessive. Here it is for me to determine a suitable balance."

"In all, it's the self-awareness that never fails to prevail," Ines adds. "Sometimes it's hard to believe being able to consider my work. But for me, it's not only a job, it's passion."
