At the age of Jeremy Cohen was 15 and a half, he took a family vacation in Yellowstone National Park unexpectedly sparked his passion for photography.
"My dad brought a little digital camera point-and-shoot," Jeremy shared with . "My sister was taking photos on it, and I thought that they were cool, so I wanted to give it a go. I shot a number of nature photos, and it inspired me to sign up for an film photography course at my high school as an elective when I got back home."
That early curiosity to capture the world around him was the foundation for his career as professional photographer. Through his Quarantine Roof Culture series to his everyday Today I Photographed portrait project, Jeremy went on to make use of his camera to "uplift and enhance the untold stories of the human condition." And people took notice: Jeremy has built an following of more than a million people on social media and has been able grow a lucrative freelance photography career.
Pivoting to freelance with the help of a website
The strategy was successful: "I started to get employed for a few small jobs, and gradually progressed to eventually go full time as a photographer freelance."
"I have many uses for my website on ," Jeremy says. "It's my primary portfolio that allows visitors to look through the absolute best of the best of my work, no matter if it's my personal work, clients workor other miscellaneous photos."
The creation of a website is also a way to build the trust of freelancers. "In my opinion," Jeremy says, "a solid website is imperative to a photographer for customers to believe in them."
