Fantasy illustration The CreativeMindClass Blog
How would you describe your personal style?
It's somewhere between stylized and realistic fantasy illustration. I use a lot of aqua and muted color palettes and prefer to use organicand flowing forms. I believe that my "style" as an illustrator is heavily influenced by my colors and the subject matter that I decide to paint but not always what it is painted. I was previously working in a much more line-oriented approach, however I've been transitioning into a looser and more painterly style.
What's the secret in creating your drawings of fantasy art?
Then I'll go over them again until it looks closest to the way I imagine the image in my mind (within reasons, else I'd spend months on a single painting). It's my goal to make my designs more complex to create just a poor picture. I'd prefer to take a long amount of time trying to get my perfect fantasy image rather than rush it.
Where can people see the fantasy drawings you've created?
I'll be part of the upcoming "Oceans and Currents" exhibition in Gallery Nucleus during July! For now you can follow me on Instagram. Prints are available for sale through my store Bandcamp if anyone would be in the market!
Also, I have a YouTube as well as Bandcamp for people who want to know more about the music I'm releasing, as I will be releasing new songs soon.
Her Background
I received my degree in my school, the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and I work currently in the entertainment art industry as a concept artist and illustrator. Additionally, I am working on a creative project called Pearl Farm, for which I create illustrations. I also write as well as perform original songs.
The article illustrations are of my own project Pearl Farm. This is my story that I wrote and follows a travelling troubadour known as Vinny along with her pet ray Hubble as they make their way through a vast globe known as the Lofty Coastline.
