 If I were forced to pick a term that represented my style of drawing, it would be 'Spring'.

I would like people to look at my drawings and feel the way they're blossoming as if a spring warm with blossoming flowers.

Cottagecore is my lifestyle that I have chosen and believe in. This could be due to the fact that I live in Seoul, a big city, so I admire the natural beauty and rural lifestyle far more than the sights I see every day.

Instead of expressing a sense of ferocity, I express a calm and tranquil mood, as I do in nature.

 What is the key to making your illustrations?

First, I'd like to talk about my favorite things I find inspiring in. My focus is on the joy from the smallest objects. The flowers I encounter in a flower garden or the whispers of a flower that flutter when wind blows, even a small bloom at the end of a road I pass as I walk.

I work mainly in the style of small wildflowers. Landscapes that are natural from botanical encyclopedias as well as rural landscapes are also a source of inspiration. I save a lot of information through images and often take notes about colored pencil art ideas.

Secondly, let's talk about the method of working. I sketch to the degree of elaborate details in the manner of actual flowers. I also communicate my thoughts through colors.

I use pointed colored pencils to precisely express the shape of the bloom. It is then set with a gentle and warm mood by making use of pastel tones instead of strong colors.

It is also my preference to put the plain and texture of paper using the paper flower technique for creating an impression of blooming flowers.

In contrast to drawing simply I feel that making papers with flowers can create a greater sense of beauty. This is the closest representation of my imagination.

My name is Yeo Jin, and I'm a colored pencil artist author and illustrator based in Seoul. My work is based on flowers since they provide me with joy!

So far, I've published six coloring pencil instructional books. I've also worked with various brands to illustrate. I currently give lectures to new drawing students and am also making products that I sell in online stores as well as in local stores.
