Dependable creator partners show their value during periods of heightened uncertainty

Periods of heightened uncertainty are extremely difficult for every business to navigate, but the times of uncertainty are the times when stable and reliable partners demonstrate their value. for creators and independent publishing, it'll be increasingly clear in the years ahead which tools and platforms will be the most effective to ensure their continued success as well as which could make their business vulnerable places.

The global economic outlook is becoming increasingly uncertain and business owners should be ready for difficulties as the year begins to take shape. Consumer budgets have been dwindling due to an unprecedented rise in inflation and the aftermath of conflicts in Europe and elsewhere - and the prospect of revenue problems is almost certain for the majority of firms.

The best part for those companies which earn revenue from their membership model is that while membership revenues are not completely immune to economic volatility, but it's usually more secure relative to the revenue that are generated through other channels such as sponsorships, advertising and commerce. This is assuming the creators are working with reliable technology partners that have solid and long-lasting business models of their own which can position them to navigate tricky circumstances effectively.

In the past, I've argued that any creator or independent publisher that wants to establish a long-term, sustainable subscription or membership-based business must be cautious when selecting the best technology and monetization tools. A tendency towards the "cheapest" solution is understandable, but creators and publishers that I deal with are frequently looking to switch to different platforms and software as a result of their existing partners failing to live up to their requirements or allow for adequate growth in terms of functionality and features they offer and assistance and support.

These frustrations become much more evident during challenging times for the economy. When the demands of audiences as well as the market and economic conditions change swiftly everywhere and the last thing creators need to consider is monetization tools that are preventing their businesses from reaching. Ineffective technology, missed opportunities to generate revenue, as well as the operational demands can be a nuisance even during good conditions. However, in times that are unstable, their effects will quickly grow to the point that they create significant risk for the business owners that are creators.

Now more than ever to ensure that the creator partners have created solid and durable businesses of their own, and will never leave their clients in the dust whenever they're forced to shift their focus or chase revenue or different possibilities.

My advice to any creator company that is worried about the current economy is to keep it simple and remain focused on what is essential. Specifically:

  • Create high-quality, distinctive consistently high-quality, differentiated content.
  • Create a smooth product and users experience that makes buying and accessing the content as simple as feasible.

In terms of the technology used to monetize and other instruments I'd advise makers to examine prospective partners more carefully more than they have ever before to make sure that they understand their philosophy and strategy which are supported by a proven results and track records and are committed to subscription and membership model for the long run.

Creators who are able to continue satisfying the needs and demands of their viewers and subscribers and who are equipped with the technology and resources in place to permit them to meet their goals, they will be able to navigate difficult economic times but emerge from the other side in a position of strength.
