Authenticity in art - The CreativeMindClass Blog

Being connected to your inner self, the core of who one is.

Angela Maria Sierra, a Spaniard-born artist, depicts her true herself and the emotions she's feeling. It is evident in her figures with rich emotional lives that are full of compassion as well as ease and happiness.

Her name is more well-known in the world of art as Riso Chan, a portrait artist and an art teacher currently living in The Netherlands. The artist is about to begin her artistic journey with videos and her own creative YouTube channel! This was something she's always wanted to do for quite a lengthy period of. In bravery, despite the awkwardness of speaking to cameras, she made a fun-to-watch video about herself as well as her work and the creative environment in which she lives.

Artist Vlog - Riso Chan

Riso Chan talks about accepting her sensitive true self through artwork:

My work is very emotionally charged. I create portraits of myself that portray the things that I feel. I was always a very sensitive and sensitive person. When I was young there was something which always made me feel uneasy and I attempted to ignore it. (...) When you get older to maturity, you realize that you're not alone and that everyone experiences differently. I decided to make use of all of the emotion I bring to my everyday day life to begin painting. I draw on it to stimulate my creativity and to spark fresh ideas. That is amazing because the thing I had been pushing down all my life and then, suddenly I put it down on sheet of paper and it seemed like a great release. There is finally an area where I am able to make use of this sense, where I can use these emotions, pains, and joys and write them down. It felt really awesome and brought me back to my place where I felt grateful. The experience began to resonate with a many others. I began to open to putting ideas on paper that I never thought of previously. Instead of trying to look the same as other artists who have previously "made it", I really tuned to what I wanted to express and what I want to express as a person. I accepted something I did not like about me and realized that it was actually my greatest strength. I am really happy being the most sensitive me.
