Art collages CreativeMindClass Blog : CreativeMindClass Blog
In the afternoon of Sunday, I discovered Olga posting on Instagram about my childhood neighborhood. Within Warsaw's concrete jungle lies the green area. I used to go there during summer time to gaze at the beautiful pine trees and take breaths of the nature world inside my urban lung. According to her story, Olga visited this area during her first visit, however , she was also enthralled by one of the most extensive backyards located in Warsaw. It's likely that in the near future she'll paint an inspired Boernerowo painting.
We questioned Olga about the process she uses for creating her collages that are minimal and paintings of human-shaped landscapes
"My name is Olga Szczechowska, and I'm living in Warsaw. From the moment when I was just a child I've been drawing and painting frequently. I attended an art high school , and studied Painting as well as Culture Studies in the University of Nicolaus Copernicus in Torun.
I'm a designer, artist as well as illustrator and sometimes graphic designer. Through my work, I examine the interaction between us and the natural world and pay close attention to how we influence the environment in our backyards. In observing the trimming of hedges along with decorative landscaping and beautiful home gardens I'm trying to capture the world which surrounds us."
"For several years I have created minimal collages. These collages were in the form of landscapes and still-life or came about as the result of explorations using textures, forms as well as colours.
My work is varied as the art of collage as well as painting can be very different. However, they share something in common to both: they have a calm. I've heard the phrase over and over from my fans and believe that it is the most accurate description of my work. If I'm exhausted of drawing, I make collages and reverse. The style you choose can be an instant escape from the norm.
It is my opinion that observation can be the most vital factor. I pay attention to everything I observe, which includes the natural world, architectural structures and objects. The result is seen in my work. My artworks don't see anyone, however it is a feeling of human presence in trimmed hedges or in a cup placed at the end of the table."
