My story
My name is Ekaterina Boguslavskaya. I grew up in Russia.
I went to school in Moscow However, I spent my summers in the countryside.
The water was not hot The house was heated by a furnace, and the neighbors raised goats and cows. Wonderful times! Apart from nature and cycling I was a huge fan of animated cartoons. All my peers became adults and stopped enjoying cartoons. I was the opposite! I realized it could become my preferred thing to do. This is how I ended up in film school at Moscow, Russia.

My style
I would like my artwork to always evoke some very soulful emotions. As if you are sitting in front of the fire after a day of skiing or hiking in the mountains.

My procedure
I enjoy the drawing process. The process has a lot in common with meditation. While I'm at work I can see it getting dark, and I'll become hungry, but it doesn't really matters while I'm working.

Presently, I work in both the industry of animation and illustration... And there are board games too. I truly love the work I do.
I've always drawn often. However, it began to look better when I graduated. Because I began to decide the way and what I would draw.

My suggestions to doubtful visual artists
Think about what you like and you will surely enjoy your time with it. Try to listen less to people if you don't really appreciate what they're doing. It will all work out! And there will be people who will be enthralled by what you're doing.

My technique
I draw everything I can using my iPad, Procreate. Sometimes I finish some thing using Photoshop.
The iPad really transformed my daily life. Now I work in my bed, at libraries, in cafes. When I pick a location to work. I also wander around and am not confined to sitting in front of my computer. Therefore, the iPad is an amazing tool that combines classic drawing and computer drawing.

The iPad is loaded with great brush brushes. For example, I got watercolor brushes through "The Watercolor MaxPack - Brushes for Procreate". It is a joy every time I use these brushes. They are very close to the real thing as they can get.

A few thoughts on what I do for job.
I try to make an approximate outline of objects. Because I find hard outlines harsh and cold.
Sometimes I turn my shadows cold bluish with the multiplier setting. Sometimes, I apply overlay. It's a bit confusing for me. how it works.

Procreate comes with some great blur settings. Try the settings! There are several varieties, and they're very good. But mostly I draw as I do with traditional materials on canvas or paper.
I'm always looking for more, learning about my subject, and trying to get closer to the image I enjoy by doing personal projects.

About the Teriberka series
I did after traveling there (to Teriberka). Russian North, the Arctic. A town where people used to build ships and take a great deal of fish. Now it's kind of abandoned.
Please Google it! It's beautiful.

I'm always impressed by the North.
I am a fan of the people, the animals as well as the multitude of colors of Moss. Tiny berries contain loads of vitamins, more than the tropical fruit. It's quite amazing.
Northern Cliffs appear to be the skin of huge elephants! This is the feeling that I tried to show in these photos.

About the Tiny Things series
This project came into my thoughts after I had become exhausted of my job, the flu and the city.

I picked up a macro lens and went to the woods. And how much incredible beauty lay beneath my feet! Every inch of nature was beautiful. It gave me plenty of inspiration and creativity. It was how this project was born.
In spite of everything no matter what happens, there's a wonder just beneath your feet!

How I organize my time at work
It is a challenge to control your time and relaxation, to say no to proposals that aren't suitable. Or to take on a lot of work and try to survive without getting tired of doing what you love. All this I am still learning.

The creative blockages
The hard element is the actual process Sometimes it fails to come out as expected. I don't like the result. You can go through 8 hours and then get annoyed. And then a couple of days afterwards, you can redo it in a matter of minutes and everything looks good. What's that? Magic.

This is my little piece of advice on how to overcome the creative blockages
In the event of completing some type of task - do not get up immediately to draw (if it's possible). Your brain should be able to process the task on the side while engaged in other activities. That's how I think you can find the best solution.

What do I think of my work
If I were to grade my own work - I wouldn't give myself an "excellent". It's very exhausting and I do my best to make myself miserable. But on the other hand, it drives me ahead.
Drawing is like a great adventure!
If you have tickets for a destination, and you already know something from Google and something else will be surprising you on the spot. At first, it looks to be an exciting adventure to me.
