A watercolorist - The CreativeMindClass Blog
"You'll frequently hear me sing variations of this phrase while I teach: we go from large to small, meaning larger brush to smaller brush, loose to tight and dark to light. It's important to begin by having fun and enthusiasm by following a loose outline, and then let the piece speak and guide you to where it would like you to go."
Watercolor painting tips:
- Start with a big brush and then a tiny brush
- Go between tight and loose moves
- From light to dark colors
My background
"I was that quiet girl at the middle of the class, nose deep in a sketchbook. Not much has changed since. In the beginning, I was experiencing an artistic burnout, however being a mother brought me back to watercolor painting. I rediscovered myself through combining my art and religious practice. I created "Watercolor Devo's." These works spurred me into being a creative educator and a full time artist."

What would you say about your watercolor style?
"I can't get away from the fun, bold or bright pink. An element of old-fashioned quirk or visual tension is often my goal when I'm drawing. Most importantly, I like to bring the best of watercolor to the paper, letting it flow in vivid bleedings in bold colors."
